When to request collection
City managed clean and kept areas
- You can report dead wildlife in all City managed recreational areas such as parklands, ovals, streetscapes, access-ways or footpaths.
Natural areas
- If the dead animal is located in our natural areas and is small, then it is best for the environment to leave it where it is.
- Natural areas that are not regularly frequented, such as the Ranford Bushland, are not regularly maintained by the City. For this reason, typically dead native wildlife can be left for natural decomposition to occur.
- If the dead animal is creating a smell or is large and most likely will create a smell in a regularly accessed area, please request a collection below.
Black cockatoos
If the deceased wildlife is a black cockatoo or you have noticed a tag or radio collar on the animal, please contact the Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions on 9219 9000.
Not wildlife
If the dead animal is not a native animal but a dog, cat or livestock, please refer to Deceased Animals - Dog/Cat/Livestock
